One Simple Trick To Speed Up Your Android Smartphone

Wouldn’t it be great if you could speed up your Android smartphone without having to root it? There are dozens of ways to increase the speed and overall performance of Android handsets, but nearly all of them require root access. Not only is rooting difficult, but it can also brick your device if you aren’t careful, voiding the warranty and rendering it useless. Well, there’s one technique that can speed up your Android smartphone without relying on root access, which we’re going to discuss further in this blog post.
Whether you own an outdated Nexus 4 or a brand-spankin’ new Galaxy S6 or HTC One (M9), this trick will almost certainly speed up your device. Granted, it’s not going to magically turn your device into some blazing-fast next-gen smartphone, but it will make a noticeable difference in the performance. So without further ado, let’s go over the steps to speeding up an Android smartphone using this one simple trick.
First, you’ll need to enable the somewhat hidden Developer menu on your Android smartphone. We’ve talked about this before on our blog, but in case you missed it, access Settings > About Phone > and tap Developer Options seven consecutive times. When performed correctly, you should see a message appear, indicating that Developer Options are now available. As the name suggests, this opens up several new options that are otherwise restricted for normal users.
After enabling Developer Options, go back to the main Settings menu and scroll down to the bottom until you find Developer Options. Click it and scroll through the list of options until you see the following: Window animation scale, Transition animation scale, and Animator animation scale. The default Android settings have these options set to 1x. However, you can adjust them to 0.5x by tapping them. Go ahead and tap each animation option so they are set to 0.5x.
Your Android smartphone will now run faster since the animations are reduced by half. Basically, this speeds up the animations displayed on your smartphone, freeing up valuable resources in the process. If you wish to revert back to the original animations settings, just go back into the Developer Options and tap the animations again.

After doing this on my s6 edge the animation lags after waking up phone from sleep mode. The transition settings recommended are too slow.
EDIT: Ignore the comment above. I accidentally hit 5x instead of .5x
Worked on Lollipop on Galaxy S5.
