The Canvas Series Smart Phones from Micromax

Micromax is among the top three manufacturers for smarts phones in the Indian market. The company initially concentrated on manufacturing low end feature phones for everyday use. They then penetrated the smart phone market with the Canvas series of smart phones. Here is a look at the popular Android powered Canvas series of smart phones from Micromax;
- Canvas Turbo– the latest model from the Canvas series, released in October of 2013. The first from Micromax to come with a full HD display. It has the Android 4.3 JellyBean and a 13MP camera. The back casing is aluminum and is not removable.
- Canvas Magnus– runs on the Android 4.2 JellyBean. The processor is 1.5 GHz and a RAM of 1GB with dual SIM and GSM support. It comes with a 12MP back camera and 2MP front camera and an expandable storage of up to 32GB.
- Canvas Doodle– Released in May 2013. It comes in 2G and 3G capabilities with dual SIM, expandable storage up to 32 GB, an 8MP back camera and 2MP front camera. It has and LED flash and runs the Android 4.1.2 JellyBean. 1.2 GHz quad core processor. It also comes in two models; the A112 and A240.
- Canvas 4-Released in June 2013. It has a quad core processor of 1.2 GHz, a 13MP primary camera with auto focus and the Android 4.2.1 JellyBean. It also has an accelerometer and proximity sensors.
- Canvas Ego– released in September 2013 with a battery capacity of 2000 mAh which is removable, an 8 MP camera and Android 4.1 JellyBean. It supports 2G and 35G frequencies.
- Canvas Fun– Released in August 2013. It has 512MB of RAM and up to 32 GB of expandable storage. 5MP camera and the Android 4.2.
- Canvas Lite– Released in 2013 July. Has a capacitive touch screen. 1 GHz dual core processor and GPS support.
- Canvas Music– comes with 512 MB worth of RAM, 1 GHz dual core processor and the Android 4.1.1. JellyBean.
- Canvas Viva– released in April 2013. Has TFT touch screen, 3.14 MP primary camera, Android 2.3 Gingerbread and Java MIDP emulator.
- Canvas 2 plus– released in May 2013. Dual SIM functions with 1 GB of RAM. Android 4.2 JellyBean.
- Canvas 3D– Talk time battery of up to 4 ½ hours and standby of up to 225 hours. 1 GHz dual core processor and 512 RAM.
- Canvas HD– released in January of 2013 running the Android 4.1.2 JellyBean. 8MP camera with auto focus.
- Canvas 2– released in November of 2012 with the Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich. 1 GHz dual core processor and 512 RAM. Has a capacitive touch screen with 16 M colors
