What to watch out for in CES 2014

This massive international CES show is getting bigger and bigger. What with the changing world of technology that requires to be broadcast and where else would you get to watch every new technological development if not at CES? This show holds cutting edge in technology broadcast that is aimed at keeping technology consumers always informed besides giving them a glimpse of what the digital future holds for them.
2014 is going to be a breakthrough year for CES bearing in mind the technological products that are set to be released this year. The world is watching especially the giant smartphone manufacturing firms that are yet to release their technologies in a matter of months. Samsung is expected to introduce its much awaited Samsung Galaxy Note 4 and Galaxy S5 this year. Sony, LG, Nokia and other firms won’t take that seated as they too will have something new to launch.
Here are a few trends to watch at CES 2014
- The curved television
All and sundry celebrated a few years ago when flat screen were introduced. High-definition resolution later followed making the images clearer. However, today, these things are of the past. Giant television manufacturers are rolling out flat-screens that will curve and bend at user’s will. Samsung and LG have already have released HD TVs with curved screens and in some other cases, a touch of a button is enough to make the screen bend hence the user decides to watch the TV with a curved or flat display.
2. UHD
This year will see a great breakthrough in TV technology if what has already started is something to go by. Terms like UHD (Ultra High-Definition) and 4K will be common terminologies. What really is UHD or 4K? It refers to the common high-definition but is now four times higher than the normal 1080p broadcast. This means that TV’s content will be sharper than is currently. However, this might be reflected on the TV cost like it is happening to LG’s 84’ inch UHD/4K TV retailing at $17 000.
3. Your car
The next thing to watch out in CES 2014 is car manufacturers. This is the year that has seen the dashboard modified into a hub fitted with GPS and access to applications such as search engine Bingand Pandora. We are going to experience cars powered solely by sunlight as well as a Hyundai Genesis that can be started with a tablet or a smartphone app.
